OMBER LAMP

OMBER is a portmanteau of "ombre" and "ember," which describes this lamp's campfire-like quality of light. This lamp was inspired by the Japanese concept of Wabi-Sabi, finding beauty in imperfect, weathered guardrail timbers that were purchased from an industrial thrift store. These timbers were cut into planks and joined by invisible dowels to form a hexagon shade. This seats into an offset hexagon base, also cut from guardrail timbers, and serves as an anchor, preventing the top-heavy lamp from easily tipping over. A premanufactured pendant light and smart bulb provide adjustable light that shines through the irregular seams.
